8th Annual OKTOBERFEST & ANTIQUES MARKET
Genuine German food, a Biergarten, German music, children’s Fun Fest, a special mass and evening dance party highlight the St. Joseph Oktoberfest to be held this Fall on Saturday September 17, 2011 on the St. Joseph School grounds. Now in its 8th year, this popular community event raises funds to benefit St. Joseph Church and School.
The day begins with an open air Antiques Market, featuring antiques and treasures from more than 50 Midwest vendors – no entrance fee. Next to the market is the “Family Fest” area with games and activities for children. Following the day’s activities, a special Oktoberfest Mass is celebrated at 5pm. Then, it’s the adults turn to enjoy a traditional German dinner in the School Hall while listening to the sounds of Die Donau-Schwaben Blaskapelle. The dance party starts at 8pm – hosted in an outdoor big tent, with a live band and plenty of German Beer! Tickets are required for the dinner and dance party.
