If you’re looking for simple ways to live more sustainably, this fun Fair for all ages will help you make great choices for your home, garden, recreation and transportation needs. This year’s feature exhibit is Skidmore, Owings & Merrill’s stunning, thought provoking display, “Great Lakes Century Vision,” inspired by the centennial of Burnham’s Plan of Chicago.
Check out the latest green cars from 8 different manufacturers, the Pterovolo and the bike-folding contest in the transportation exhibit. Bring your questions about home energy savings, rain barrels, the latest green products and green initiatives in your community. Fun activities for children include Pollinator Passports and a craft room. Enjoy Solar and Wind exhibits, and nature activities for both children and adults. Buy native plants. Produce electricity on the energy bike; relax in the Go Green Café and more.
Bring electronics, bicycles, shoes, textiles and Styrofoam for recycling (12-4PM only). For exhibit details, see www.goinggreenmatters.org.
