Internationally acclaimed best-selling thriller writer Lee Child will discuss his creative process and experiences as a writer on June 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Wilmette Jr. High School, 620 Locust Road, Wilmette, in a program sponsored by the Wilmette Public Library.
Mr. Child was fired and on the dole when he hatched a harebrained scheme to write a bestselling novel, thus saving his family from ruin. His first novel, Killing Floor, was published in 1997. An immediate success, the book launched the author’s series about Jack Reacher, a former American military policeman who wanders the United States, and won Mr. Child both an Anthony award and a Barry Award for Best First Novel.
With more than 22 million copies of his novels in print worldwide, the Jack Reacher series has grown in sales and impact with every new installment. Personal, the nineteenth and latest novel in the series, simultaneously debuted as a number one bestseller in all English language countries.
Mr. Child’s books will be available for purchase courtesy of The Book Stall at Chestnut Court, and a book signing will follow the presentation.
