New Exhibit Opening: The Sixties

On Sunday, October 11^th from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., the Wilmette Historical Museum, 609 Ridge Road in Wilmette, will host the opening of a new exhibit, “The Sixties.”  It has been 45 years since the 1960s drew to a close, yet the sights and sounds of that turbulent decade still have the power to startle, provoke, inspire, and move us.  “The Sixties” exhibit features many of these memorable sights and sounds, taking visitors from the hopefulness of Kennedy’s “New Frontier,” the joyful frenzy of the first Beatles hits and the youthful, new fashion trends, to the political protests and assassinations of the later years.
